Annotation – Marcus Aurelius

I find it difficult sometimes to annotate images where I have not been able to see the original. This was the case in this instance as the statue of Marcus Aurelius is in a museum in Rome.
It is therefore, something of a challenge to imagine the full colour, scale and detail of the original statue.
Fortunately, I found a website, which is mentioned in the attached essay, which had photographs of the statue taken from various angles and with a close-up of certain aspects. This made the annotation much easier than if I had had to undertake it from a single image.
