Edward Weston by Manfred Heiting

Weston is well known for his photographs of peppers and this book (Edward Weston, Manfred Heiting, Taschen Books, Koln, 1999) features some of these as well as many other photographs of his. I was particularly interested in the images of peppers, cabbage, fungi, etc. during my second assignment when I was photographing plants.

Weston’s images are stunning with moody lighting and fantastic texture. I think this book is the perfect antidote whenever I get the feeling that just one more piece of equipment will make me a better photographer! It wasn’t the equipment that made Weston so good.

These wonderful pictures can be seen at the Edward Weston / Cole Weston family website.
